The website for the online ‘FebEx’ model railway exhibition from Alton Model Railway Group is now live at http://febex.co.uk/.
The February Exhibition originally scheduled for Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2021 has been cancelled. We have replaced it with an online exhibition that can be viewed at a new dedicated website at http://febex.co.uk/

Unfortunately, the Group have reluctantly decided to cancel our annual FEBEX exhibition scheduled for Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 February 2021.
The 2020 February Exhibition was held on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February at Eggars School in Alton.
The layout by Abingdon & District MRC, was awarded the Peco Publications ‘Best Layout in Show’ award by Steve Flint
Due to road works in Alton Town Centre, the preserved bus service provided by the ADORR society will only be running a service between the exhibition and Alton Station during the exhibition
It is with great pleasure that we can confirm that FebEx2020 will be opened on Saturday 1 February 2020 by Steve Flint.
There have been a couple of last minute alterations to the attendees at FebEx2020.
Accompanied children under the age of 16 will be able to enjoy the exhibition for free.
The 2020 February Exhibition will be held on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 February at Eggars School in Alton (GU34 4EQ) and is open from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday, and 10.30am to 4pm on Sunday.

The February Exhibition is held at Eggars School in Alton, Hants (GU34 4EQ).
Eggars School is less than half a mile from the A31, and approximately 10 minutes walk from Alton Railway Station.

A freelance OO9 terminus to fiddle yard layout taking its inspiration from the Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.
Barrow Street is a small parcels depot in the corner of a yard.
Bembridge was the eastern most station on the Isle of Wight located some two and three quarter miles north east of Brading Junction. The line opened in 1882 and was closed in 1953 due to declining traffic.
Situated somewhere in the Forest of Dean, Bicsdale is a fictional place where one of the typical drift coal mines is operating in the Forest in the 1950’s.
The layout is either operated as BR(w) or as a preserved railway based on what is now the terminus of the branch line that once operated from Bewdley to Hartlebury.
Chalfont – Gauge 3 – represents a small GWR branch terminus station and goods yard.
The idea for this layout was to depict the rugged terrain that the American railroads had to conquer when planning their way to and through the Wild West.
A 4mm OO Gauge layout by Abingdon & District MRC
Much Murkle; population 1452 according to the 1931 census is set in a fictitious 1930’s community in Herefordshire.
Project Iraq 2003 is a simple run round layout. Built to a scale of 1/35 it runs on a 16.5mm track gauge representing the original 600mm gauge.
The model seen here represents Sidmouth as it was operated by British Railways Southern Region in the Summer of 1959 or 1960.
The Stodden Hundred Light Railway is a depiction of a rural railway on the borders of Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, in the mid 1930’s, just before everything changed with World War 2.
Teignford is a British Railways (Western Region) layout located in South Devon, modelled in 3mm Scale with a gauge of 12mm
A 4mm 00 gauge layout mainly built using ‘off the shelf’ products to a design that allows lots of operating potential.

Santa Águeda (pronounced Agatha) is a fictitious small town to the north of Lisbon. Portuguese railways have charmed enthusiasts for many years, with stock built all over Europe and North America, and a unique architecture.
Exhibited by the Guildford O Gauge Group, Normandy Junction Shed includes a traverser and the entrance to the loco works.
The layout is a compressed model of Glynceiriog station, (the passenger terminal) on the quarry line between an interchange wharf on the Shropshire union canal, or G.W.R. exchange sidings at Chirk, North Wales, and numerous granite quarries 9 miles away.
The layout represents a 2’3” main line narrow gauge railway, not in the first flush of youth, but well maintained and capable of handling fairly heavy traffic.
Solent Summit is a modular American N scale layout by members of the Gosport American Model Railroad Group. It was started in 2010 and is made up of some key modules that are club owned, and others built and owned by members.
Scratchy Bottom Halt represents a small part of Rowland Emett’s railway world, re-creating in model form some of his railway cartoons.
Priors end is a small end of the line station, with a goods yard and EMU stabling point. The layout is based on the southern region in the 1970’s with 2-car HAP’s and EPB’s on passenger duties and 33’s and 73’s operating the fiddle yard.
North Ealing was built as a Fifty something layout for the fiftieth anniversary of The Three Millimetre Society challenge.
A freelance 0n30 line featuring scratch built track and buildings, operating barge loading from side tip wagons. Essentially a minimum space freelance railway on three baseboards.
Whitedown MPD is a fictitious depot somewhere in Hampshire. It features both steam and diesel locomotives from the 50s and 60s.
Originally constructed and built as Kitehouses by Dave Hawkins and Tony Sullivan of the South Hants MRC. KITEDALE has now been moved to Lancashire, to become an ex Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway terminus to the north of Rochdale, with a connection to the Oldham Loop Line.
The model shows the situation on 1st May 1941, the eve of the battle. It is in forced perspective with scales from 1/32 at the front to 1/700 at the back giving a flavour of the base and its aircraft.

The February Exhibition 2015 took place on Saturday 4 and Sunday 5 February 2015. The exhibition hosted a wide variety of layouts from across the south, including Prospect Point, Ballyconnell Road, Hobbiton End, Figges Marsh, Treloar Sidings and Malix.
San Maria Gandia was awarded the Railway Modeller Shield for the best layout in show at FebEx2017. Bob Treacher, former proprietor of Alton Model Centre, judged the shows layouts on behalf of Peco Publications.

The Merstone layout was started by one of the Group’s former Chairmen Rod Lerew who very sadly died in 2015. AMRG member Mark Pretious took on the completion of the layout and FebEx2016 was its first outing.

The February Exhibition 2009 took place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 February 2009, and was held at Eggars School in Alton. The exhibition included layouts Normandy Junction, HW Yard, Warton Road, Westlingen, and the Groups own Alton.
The February 2008 Group exhibition, held on February 2 and 3, was the fifth at Eggars School in Alton. The exhibition included layouts Santo Antonio, Stacks Fork, Nettlecombe, Stratton St.George, Otterbridge and Tan-Y-Bwlch.
The February 2007 Group exhibition, held on February 3 and 4, was the fourth at Eggars School in Alton.
