From the Exhibition Manager, Roger Joel
Before I go into the detail of FEBEX 2020 on behalf of Alton Model Railway Group I would like to thank all the exhibitors, traders and visitors who made it to the 2019 exhibition in spite of the snow; without all your efforts the show could not have taken place. From traders and exhibitors who travelled across the country, arriving much later than planned, to the ladies in the kitchen who walked through snow to get to the school, we are most grateful.
Now for FEBEX 2020, planning is virtually complete with 13 layouts and 14 traders confirmed. Those attending in 2020 will be listed on the website over the next few days.
You will see that all the regular traders are in attendance with the addition of Model Scenery Supplies who will be at FEBEX for the first time. Please remember many of the traders offer a ‘pre-order’ service where you can order specific items in advance of the show and pick them up when you visit; thus saving disappointment if the item you want is not on the stand.
After the snow of 2019 curtailed the programme, we will be re-running the presentations and demonstrations on constructing model buildings from plastic and cardboard kits (both straight from the box and with added detailing) and scratch-building using plasticard and scale lumber.
During your visit to the show if you cannot find the refreshments please ask a steward (Hi Vis vests) they will be able to direct you. This year all the Group displays will be in the refreshment area including a layout for kids to operate.
Looking forward to seeing you at FEBEX 2020
